22.06.2009 GLASTONBURY MUSIC FESTIVAL
Two short films and one music video of ours have been succesfully selected to be shown at this years Glastonbury Music Festival. 'Theory of (R)evolution' 'A Trace of Her' and 'Love the World' will be shown from today until the 26th. The films will be screened at the Village Screen (sited at the meeting point,one of the busiest places on the site) Tickets sold out this year so that means 350,000 mashed revellers will potantially get the chance to watch Killa Gorilla go on a technicolour rampage. Good luck with that.

21.06.2009 THE DAY THE LIGHTS WENT OUT...
Post Production has recently finished on a seven minute animated film entitled "The day the lights went out" Funded by First Light Movies and the UK Film Council, Quay worked alongside Eazip the South Tyneside Education Action Zone Improvement Partnership (and breathe) Quay and Eazip worked with a group of pupils from four schools in South Tyneside to produce the seven minute action adventure ghost story epic. The film will be premiered at the beginning of July at the Customs House in South Tyneside during a gala event shown alongside two other films funded by First Light Movies.

Organizers of the $70,000 Sobey Art Award, Canada*s pre-eminent prize for contemporary Canadian art, today announced the longlist of 25 artists selected by the Curatorial Panel. Kelly Richardson has been shortlisted for Ontario for a second year running, this year as a result of her exhibition in Toronto featuring Twilight Avenger.

22.01.2009 MUSIC VIDEO FOR CAMPHOR
Work has recently commenced on an animated video for the track "The Sweetest Tooth" taken from the album "Drawn to Dust" by New York based indie band Camphor. The group is based around the songwriting of Max Avery Lichtenstein. If Max's name rings a bell, you may recognize him from his unconventional instrumental music for critically-acclaimed independent movies including Tarnation (written and directed by Jonathan Caouette. Exec. Producer, Gus Van Sant) Jesus' Son (starring Billy Crudup and Samantha Morton) and The King (starring Gael García Bernal) Max also wrote the score for "The Winged Man' written by Academy Award Nominee José Rivera (The Motorcycle Diaries)

15.01.2009 DAY ONE OF SUNDANCE
Today marks the beginning of the 2009 Sundance Film Festival. If you happen to be reading this on your way to Utah we highly recommend you check out our collaboration with Kelly Richardson featured in this years New Frontier on Main exhibition entitled 'Twilight Avenger'. This piece along with two more by Kelly Richardson entitled 'Wagons Roll' and 'Exiles of the Shattered Star' are being shown on continuous loops every day throughout the festival.

Quay Animation teamed up with local animator Mark Nute to produce a one minute viral directed by Ben Whitehouse of JOY@RSA (Ridley Scott Associates). The viral was used at the book launch of My Goat Ate Its Own Legs by Alex Burrett at Borders on Oxford St in London. Ewetube domination coming to a field near you soon!

23.09.2008 SUNDANCE FILM FESTIVAL 2009
We're very excited to report that 'Twilight Avenger' will be featured in this years Sundance Film Festival alongside two other video artworks by Kelly Richardson. All three will exhibit as part of this years New Frontier on Main which showcases cinematic installations by a mixture of approximately 12 artists/scientists that challenge the convention of the medium. The exhibition will run for the entire festival from January 15-25, 2009.

10.09.2008 IN THE PRESS
Our recent collaboration with Kelly Richardson on her video entitled 'Twilight Avenger' has received rave reviews from her solo exhibition this summer at Birch Libralato in Toronto, Canada. Thus far it has been featured in The Globe and Mail, Now Magazine, Akimblog and a further review will appear in the November issue of Artforum. 'Twilight Avenger' will also feature as the cover image for the October/November issue of Adbusters.

One of our recent projects, the 'Love the World' music video for the Karoshi Bros is currently screening on the MTV playlist. It will also be showing on an outdoor screen for several weeks as part of the Middlesborough Live project and it was recently shortlisted for the Portobello Post Supershorts International Film Festival 2008.

01.08.2008 TOUR VISUALS FOR YOUNG GALAXY
Quay Animation Studios are collaborating with UK based Canadian Visual Artist Kelly Richardson to produce tour visuals to promote the forthcoming second album for Young Galaxy. Montreal based Young Galaxy are signed to the Arts and Crafts label which includes other artists such as Broken Social Scene, Feist, Pheonix, Stars, The Dears and The Stills.

12.06.2008 TWILIGHT AVENGER
This will be the second time the studio has collaborated with Kelly Richardson having assisted her on her latest piece of work entitled 'Twilight Avenger' which is exhibiting as part of her solo exhibition at Birch Libralato in Toronto, Canada between July and September this summer. Kelly Richardson, who's work featured in 'The Cinema Effect' at the Smithsonian's Hirshhorn Museum in Washington DC (and subsequently acquired as part of their permanent collection) was recently shortlisted for the Sobey Art Award (Canada's version of the Turner Prize). Her upcoming exhibitions include the Busan Biennale 2008 in South Korea and Pace University Digital Gallery in New York this September.

03.06.2008 "FUEL THE CHOPPER"
Quay Animation Studios are also collaborating with a London and LA-based writing team to produce an internet based animated series for the Great North Air Ambulance. Kirsty Peart is an animation feature writer and independant producer at the Film Foundry based in London and is currently co-writing with LA-based Jessica Kedward on two animated feature films for LA-based Exodus Film Group.
